There are currently 234 countries in the world, including sovereign states and dependent states. During our analysis of health parameters, however, it became evident that not all 234 countries have information on health development. Some of them are not even mentioned in UN or WHO statistical data, mostly the small or very small countries that are colonies or depend on the governments of sovereign states (especially the United Kingdom and France). We therefore compared and combined data from various research sources and reduced the number of countries to 191.

Il nostro pianeta è attualmente formato da 234 Stati, suddivisi in Paesi sovrani e Dipendenze. In sede di analisi dei parametri sanitari, tuttavia, è emerso che non tutti i 234 Stati del mondo sono considerati come fonti di notizie autonome circa lo sviluppo sanitario raggiunto da ciascuno dei paesi, tanto da non essere neanche menzionati tra i dati statistici dell’ONU o dell’OMS. Pertanto, confrontando e unendo i dati acquisiti dalle varie fonti di ricerca, gli Stati del mondo considerati ai fini del completamento del modulo 1 sono solo 191.
